Today, the snow finaly started to fall from the sky! The conditions were perfect to practice rope techniques under difficult (i.e realistic) conditions. In a heavy snow storm with winds up to 100 km/h (!) we climbed up via the ridge of the Mont Gele to 2950m. Here we practiced fixing fixed ropes in rock. We will need this to secure the rock band at 7700m on the Cho Oyu, a steep passage of 15 altitude meters in rock.
A couple times a week at the end of the day we enter the Mondzeu gym for an additional training. One hour of cycling at heart rate 120-140 (ideal for endurance training) with intervals at 170 (ideal to strengthen muscles), a bit of stretching and some muscle exercises.
