After having installed OC&C camp 1 we had a few resting days. Now that base camp is organized it started to get a little bit boring. Everyone is looking for a way to get threw time these days. Books started to find their way out of our bags and we even played the game 'wie ben ik?'
On the second rest day we took a small walk crossing the glacier. Our goal was to reach the Nangpa La (5600 m). This is the big pass connecting Tibet with Namche Bazar. Tibettans use this pass to go the big market. Unfortunately we could not reach the pass. We got stuck on the glacier as it became too steep and icy. Our crampons are allready up in OC&C Camp 1.
Today the Sherpa's got up to OC&C camp 1 where they started preparing the fixed lines to Fugro camp 2 (7000 m). Tomorrow they will have this route secured. After setting up Fugro camp 2 they will go up to organize Vicks Camp 3 (7400 m). Tomorrow we will go to OC&C camp 1 and after spending one night there we'll head to Fugro camp 2. There we will spend one night. After going up to Vicks camp 3 the next morning we will go back to either OC&C camp 1 or base camp, depending on the conditions.
So Easter will bring us busy days on the mountain. We wish you happy days, finding a lot of eggs!
