Greg, Pasang and Ang Pemba are now struggling their way up to the summit. The night in camp 3 was extremely cold. At 10 PM the three started to melt snow and they tried to eat something, before starting their climb just after midnight.
The night was dark without any moon and the team lost the way just below the rock band at 7600 m. Luckily they got back on track and found the fixed ropes, placed earlier.
After nerve-wracking hours in which we didn't hear anything from the boys, we finally got radio contact with Greg at 8.30 AM this morning. He was then at 8000 m, extremely tired and cold, but determined to push on to the summit!
Listen here to our radio talk recorded at 8.30 AM, and experience with us how it feels to climb above 8000 m.
